How was Vday spent?
We went to new york new york, where the food wasnt really fantastic, in fact, for dawn it really sucked as her plate of pasta was dry and wasn't fully cooked! Luckily they had good milkshakes, otherwise we probably would have flipped the table and walked out without paying... ok maybe not....
We then walked around Marina Square to check out movie listings, but they were all too late, so we headed towards the Esplanade to have a slow walk. We ended up just sitting near the performance arena to have a listen to a pretty impressive sounding band. Had our pictures taken and even bought 2 polaroids from this couple who were selling polaroids in nice cases at a price of 2 for $10, and its since its partly for charity we thought why not? They were apparently from The Leo Club.
This reminds me of what happened earlier while i was waiting to meet dawn at the MRT station.
A guy with long blond hair suddenly approached me, " are you celebrating Valentine's day?" he asked directly while looking at me, a stranger. Slightly taken aback i replied "yah.....?" He then started with his attempt in selling me large cards. "I'm an ex-convict and i get 50% of what i sell, i don't bluff you, normally i sell pens. But today im here to earn abit more money selling these love cards" This was when he pulled out from his file an A4 paper laminated, inside; supposed love poems and a drawing of a cartoon couple kissing which looked exactly like precious moments, except extremly pixelated. And the love poems were just words like "I love you and cant stop thinking about you" a 3 year old could come out with a "poem" like that. Hideous, i thought... but i continued to listen patiently.
He then continued to rattle on, "This picture i draw myself, i never bluff you, you can go online and find there's no other of the same, this poems also i write one, i never bluff you, because my talent is in writing love poems and drawing love cartoons, i just want to make more money, so im selling this for $10 for 2 cards. You interested?" I replied politely "Sorry im not interested" He then pulled a pitiful face and said "If you are an ex-convict you want people to give you a chance right? Can you imagine yourself in a dark room, all alone with only one candle with you and nothing else?"
"What the hell! Is he a script writer for TCS as well?" i thought to myself. I replied with the same remark, "Sorry im really not interested".
This is when he gave me the killer stare man! Liked he seriouslly wanted to kill me, rip my guts out and take all the valuables he can find from me... Then he walked away furiously...
Halfway throught this entire scenario was when dawn appeared and she was so scared by his tone and expressions as well. So im not in any way exaggerating. Freaky!!!
