Turning 21 soon, feelings? None specific, just that i feel more matured? Kinda matured in the year 2006- or at least i feel.

Had my party, SWEET! The turnout was quite poor though many people promised they'll be there but didnt turn up, didnt even bother to drop a message, but who cares man i had FUN, they missed out great food and loads of beer haha!

My bunch of mad canoeing buddies have just entered their command schools, some to SISPEC some to OCS, makes me reminisce this phase of my own, how much pain i faced when i didnt get to go to the place where i had hoped for.

But now things are different, i've matured, seen how things work in the army and i feel it's not right for me. I was told that should i sign on now, (because of my good performance) i could get to go to where i always wanted to go, OCS but the question is, am i really cut out for the army for the rest of my life or if i do sign on, is it just to fulfill a dream.

Is chasing a dream really worth throwing your happiness and life away? I don't know, for some it may be. To me? Don't think so.

There is a captain in my unit who exercised the option given to me now. He was a specialist and requested to sign on as an officer, because he was a silver bayonet holder. But he did it to support his family, from what i heard he faced some problems and needed the money.

So that kinda makes sense, but for me my option is to ORD, fly to auzzie, get my degree and maybe a masters then head off to work in the REAL WORLD. What should it be? My thoughts are leaning to the latter.
