Friendly on sunday went bad, everyone wasn't playing their best, everyone was just making silly mistakes. Matches we should have won we either drew or lost and matches we should have drew we lost quite badly. Everyone reminded me not to be late the night before, but by the time i reached there at 8.30am i was the only 1 there and had to persuade the pool uncle to open the gate to let the NUS players put their boats in before 9am, 850 mark came, and it wasn't until 915 and 930 did the rest start to stroll in. Attitude towards friendly matches is so poor.

Henry asked me about how did i manage to get the boats for NP, as all the equipment added to quite a sum. I told him its about knowing how the system works and working the way it does, perserverance is basically the key, they're not going to spend a total $20,000 on canoeing just because you tell them to, but consistent persuasion would make them think harder about it. He told me how stingy NUS was towards sports, and i replied that its the same with every school, NP never had the intention to spend any money on us before. He looked pretty impressed after what i told him.

He told me later on that NP standard has improved tremendously since the last time he saw us play and congraulated me saying i had layed the strong foundation, and asked me to feel proud. I replied that it was the hard work of the players themselves that had paid off.

I was very taken aback that an outsider player from NUS feels that way of me, and yet people of my very own team which i had worked so hard for feels nothing. Even seah kai, a leader whom i respect feels the same way, he said similar remarks to me on the thursday friendly.

In the game, seeing the way josh plays makes me feel very sick, he isn't putting in the slightest effort, even when he makes a lousy pass or loses the ball he can even smile. Everytime Jem makes a mistake he pushes the blame to other players, once he threw a ball for me to fast break so bloody far away i had to chase the ball so hard my guts neraly came out and the NUS guy was so much nearer to it he got the ball, JEM had the cheek to say why didnt i sprint for it, thank goodness Weyong spoke up for me and told him he threw the ball way off. And again our attack doesn't make full use of me as a chaser. I am really feeling quite fed up at how things are turning up, i guess enlisting is a good time to take a break from polo.

I hope my team wakes up when i book out after 2 weeks.
